Job opening -- biologist/ botanist/wetland scientist

Sycamore Environmental Consultants, Inc. has an opening for a biologist/ botanist/wetland scientist. We are a well-established, small firm that focuses on science-based analyses of natural resources. This employee will be involved in multiple projects.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to conducting field studies (biological/botanical/ wetland delineations), collecting and entering data, and preparing reports.

Position Requirements:

• Experience (5 years) conducting biological field surveys.
• Required BA, BS or MS.
• Identification of wetland and special-status plants (vascular plant taxonomy skills).
• Use well-known manuals (e.g., Jepson) to key out unknown plant species encountered
in the field
• Knowledge of Northern CA and Central Valley natural habitats, fauna and flora.
• Personable and able to communicate with people at all levels.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks required.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Need to have an interest in, and aptitude for, developing working relationships with
clients and regulatory agencies.
• Must be a team player, who can also has the ability work productively and
independently on multiple projects at a time.
• Willingness to travel if necessary.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
