This is a recruitment to fill one (1) full-time position
with the Planning and Public Works department
in the Integrated Waste Management Division.
The incumbent will perform specialized
technical work in broad and complex water and
air quality monitoring; manage the day-to-day
aspects of the water and air quality monitoring
and compliance programs, including frequent
communication with testing laboratories; collect,
analyze, and interpret water and air quality data;
review applicable laws and regulations related to
water and quality management; and independently
prepare reports to water and air quality
regulatory agencies.

Waste Reduction/ Recycling Coordinator or Waste Reduction/ Recycling Specialist

Oversee hazardous waste collection events; promote public
awareness and education programs; manage
the day-to-day activities involved with solid
waste reduction programs and recycling efforts.
This position will be filled at either level dependent
upon the candidates qualifications. The Waste
Reduction Services Coordinator will perform the
duties of the Recycling Specialist but with an
increased level of responsibility. This would include
contract, grant and budget management,
preparing and presenting Board of Supervisors
reports and acting as liaison for other governmental
agencies.

FIELD BOTANIST POSITION AVAILABLE

One or two botanists are sought to conduct plant community sampling at locations all over California as part of an NSF-funded study of patterns in plant diversity. Applicants should have a good to excellent knowledge of the non-desert California flora, e.g. able to sight-identify most families and many genera and key out species. Applicants should be willing to travel frequently during spring and summer using their own vehicles; work alone at times; hike to remote locations; and camp. GIS, GPS, and database skills are desirable but not required. Mileage and expenses will be reimbursed. Salary will depend on qualifications.

Essential Functions:

Lessee will be responsible for the following duties while leasing the Bobcat Ranch house:
• Live on site at the ranch.
• Patrol the ranch, particularly southern and western border. This includes weekly patrol of four hours to walk, drive and/or ride ATV along the southern border, maintain healthy relationship with neighbors on the ranch house road and patrol Bray and Thompson canyons. Additional patrols during the deer, turkey and
dove hunting seasons may be required to reduce incidence of poaching;
