 <title>Youth Investment Program</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council invites Northern and Central California non-profit organizations to apply for grants focused on getting youth outside. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As part of its Youth Investment Program, the Stewardship Council will grant between $2 million and $2.5 million in funding to parks and programs that connect underserved youth (ages 13 to 18) to the outdoors. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Please forward this invitation to other organizations which might be interested.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Field Botanists</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;FIELD BOTANIST POSITION AVAILABLE&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;January - August 2009 (with extension possible)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One or two botanists are sought to conduct plant community sampling at locations all over California as part of an NSF-funded study of patterns in plant diversity.  Applicants should have a good to excellent knowledge of the non-desert California flora, e.g. able to sight-identify most families and many genera and key out species.  Applicants should be willing to travel frequently during spring and summer using their own vehicles; work alone at times; hike to remote locations; and camp.  GIS, GPS, and database skills are desirable but not required. Mileage and expenses will be reimbursed. Salary will depend on qualifications.&lt;/p&gt;
